About Simply Music

Simply Music is the largest playing-based music education institution in the world.

Founded by Australian Educator Neil Moore, we have grown into a worldwide organization dedicated to developing innovative programs, promising a world where everyone plays.

Our widely acclaimed music teaching programs are taught by more than 700 Licensed Educators to thousands of students throughout the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Simply Music Foundation Piano Method:

From the very beginning, this innovative system has you playing a huge variety of music including composing, improvising, arranging, playing accompaniment, classical, blues and jazz, understanding and reading music, all done through the lens of Simply Music’s unique, ‘playing-based’ approach.  Simply Music Piano temporarily delays the music-reading process, focusing instead on developing a ‘hands-on’ relationship with the instrument and building playing skills through learning and playing a huge range of great-sounding pieces.  Typically after a year of lessons, when the student has built a substantial repertoire of 35-50 pieces, music reading begins to be added to his skill set.

Play-a-Story Program:

Developed by Simply Music Teacher Lyndel Kennedy, Play-a-Story is an improvisational program for 4-6 year-olds.  Students are given musical sounds, motifs, styles, shapes and dynamics, discovering their innate musicality by creating musical stories, laying down a comprehensive improvisational foundation that equips them with the sounds of their new musical language, and providing a wonderful springboard to leap into the Simply Music Piano program.
