TAHOE PIANO LESSONS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Payment of Fees:  Tuition must be paid to Tahoe Piano Lessons (“TPL”) by an automatic form of payment, either by a credit card or a debit card, or paid in full for the school year.  All debit or credit card (Visa or MasterCard) information must be received upon registration to confirm class time(s).  No class times will be confirmed without this signed contract and an automatic form of payment or  payment in full for the year.  Returned checks will be charged a $25.00 NSF fee.  All declined credit cards will be charged a $10.00 Administration Fee, so please keep your credit card billing information updated with our office.  Classes with less than four (4) students registered are subject to cancellation in which all remaining class tuition will be refunded.  “By Arrangement” payments must be received by the 5th of the month.  A $10.00 fee applies to late payments and more than two (2) late payments will result in dissolution of the special terms and a requirement of auto-pay or payment in full.

Withdrawals and Refunds:  

There is a two-month minimum for all lessonsOne month notice is required to discontinue any classes.  Withdrawals for the months of September through April must be done in person.  Withdrawals done before classes begin are subject to a $10.00 fee per class.  Withdrawals will not be accepted for the month of June.  A withdrawal must be done in person and will not be accepted over the phone.  To withdraw from lessons, a parent or adult student must:

  • Notify Tahoe Piano Lessons in person
  • Complete and sign a Withdrawal Form provided by Tahoe Piano Lessons

Missed Lessons and Make-up Lessons:  Absolutely no make-up lessons will be given for missed lessons unless at least a 24 hour notice has been given to TPL.  Make-up lessons will be limited to two (2) per teaching year (September –June).  You may only receive a make-up lesson while you are a currently enrolled student.  No refunds are given for missed lessons.  TPL will keep track of your available make-up lessons and will reschedule them with the student when an opening is available.

Substitutions:  TPL reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach class.  If TPL cannot arrange a substitute, any missed classes will be made up or refunded.

Care of Students:  TPL is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students.  Parents with students under the age of 18 are asked to remain for the duration of the class.  Students are not to be left at TPL for excessive time before or after lessons.  If class attendance for any particular day is below three (3) students, the class will be structured as a private or semi-private without any additional fee, but will be shortened to the following:  1-2 students will be given a 30 minute private lesson; 3 students will be given a 45 minute semi-private lesson.  When this happens, we will try to contact the parent to let them know of an earlier pick up time.

Parent’s Responsibility:

It is the responsibility of the parent or the adult to be aware of TPL’s activities such as recitals and dates TPL is open and closed.  We will post notices and send notices home with students.  It is also the responsibility of the parent or adult to be aware of deadlines and to TPL of any address or telephone number change.  Please keep an up-to-date email address with TPL.  Thank you.

Injuries:

Parents, legal guardians of minor students, and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained while TPL resulting from normal lesson activity or any other activity conducted by the student before, during or after lesson time.
